Student Guideline

I. Fitness Professional Conduct

An AASFP-certified fitness professional must maintain a high degree of professionalism and ethical behavior to guide all his/her professional decision and relationships. He/she must only practice within his/her education and knowledge and will maintain the education and experience necessary to appropriately train clients. It is the responsibility of a fitness professional to be guided by the best interest of the client AASFP reserves the right to revoke the certification status of any instructor that is found to be acting in a manner that brings themselves, other fitness professional, fitness centre, or the fitness industry into disrepute

II.Rules and Regulations

1. Membership

a. Eligibility

• Applicants for membership must be Seventeen years of age or over.

b. Membership Cards

• Each member will be issued with a non-transferable membership card containing a photograph of the member, his / her name, membership number and expiry date.
• The membership card shall remain the property of the Asian Academy for Sports and Fitness Professionals ( AASFP ) . Lost membership cards are to be reported immediately to the receptionist and the member shall be fully responsible for all the liabilities incurred by the use of the membership card prior to the time of the report of its loss.
• Hong Kong dollars One Hundred and Fifty shall be levied for the replacement of a lost membership card.

c. Termination of membership

• If any member fails to comply with The Rules and Regulations, the management may in its absolute discretion terminate the membership of any member by giving written notice to that effect.
• A member shall forthwith cease to be a member if the AASFP expels such member in accordance with the provisions of Rule 1(d).

d. Expulsion

• The management may at its absolute discretion and without giving any reason suspend or expel such member from the AASFP if it considers that:
• such member has conducted him/herself in such a way which is injurious to the AASFP or which is objectionable or prejudicial to the other members or staff of the AASFP or is guilty of conduct unbecoming a member of the AASFP;
• such member or his guests are in breach of any of the provisions of The Rules and Regulations of the AASFP .

e. Membership Fee

• The details of the membership fee, application, terms and conditions, please contact AASFP.
• The annual fee is non-refundable.
• Fu ture annual fees may be increased at any time at the absolute discretion of the management.

2. Change of Information

Any changes of personal information, please contact AASFP immediately.

3. Hours of Operation

The AASFP will be open ed to members from Monday to Friday 10 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. , Saturday 10 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., and closed on Sunday and Public Holidays . The management may in its absolute discretion decide the hours of operation.

4. Conduct

In order to create a pleasant and relaxed atmosphere within the AASFP, members are required to conduct themselves in responsible manner consistent with this aim.

Any person conducting him/herself in a disorderly manner or whose presence at the AASFP's premises shall be considered by the management to be objectionable to the interests of other members or the staff of the AASFP is liable to be expelled or withdrawn from the premises.

Complaints of any nature whatsoever should be addressed to the management.

Any decision made by the management will be final.

No member shall use any sound instruments such as radios on the premises.

No member shall engage in illegal betting or gambling, drunkenness, bad language or other misconduct on the premises.

Smoking is not permitted in any area of the premises..

If a member has consumed excessive amounts of alcohol just prior to attending the resource center of the AASFP, he/she will not be permitted to enter the premises and use the facilities.

5. Food

No person shall be permitted to bring food and/or drink (water is an exception) into AASFP for consumption on the premises with prior approval.

Water is available free of charge, please bring along your own clean container.

6. Children

Children age 12 years and below are not permitted on the premises unless special permission had been obtained from the management or in the company of adult at all times.

7. Loss of Personal Belongings

No responsibility is taken by the management of any personal belongings which is lost or damaged on the premises.

8. Equipment

Anyone is to strictly adhere to any instructions displayed on or near equipment when using such equipment.
Any malfunction of any equipment must be reported to the AASFP staff immediately

9. AASFP Property

No member shall take away or permit to be taken away from the premises or damage or destroy any property belonging to the AASFP.

Any member who takes away or damages any of the AASFP's Property shall be liable to pay a sum to the AASFP equal to the replacement cost or repair

10. Accident or Injury

Any accident or injury occurring within the premises must be reported to AASFP staff before the member leaves the premises.

• The AASFP staff shall assist the member in completing in the case of emergency.

• The AASFP staff must be informed immediately so the appropriate action may be taken

• The AASFP will not be liable if the accident or event is not caused by the fault of AASFP staff.

11. Course Fee

Course fee must be paid a week before course starts; otherwise, all reservation will be cancelled as the management may in its absolute discretion decide.

12. Obligation

AASFP reserves the rights to suspend or expel any student, when AASFP concludes that:

• a student is willfully disobedient to a lecturer; or 

• the behavior of the student has a harmful effect on the other students; or

• the behavior of the student has caused disturbance to the other students; or

• a student intentionally or recklessly endangering, threatening, or causing physical or mental harm to any person during classes and examinations

Student confirmed violation of the above AASFP's code of conduct may result in expulsion and the course fee will not be refunded to the student.

13. The Management

The AASFP management reserves the right to:

• refuse to admit anyone to the premises or to use any of the equipment, facilities or services if such member has previously failed to comply with The Rules and Regulations of AASFP ;

• expel from the premises any member who has violated The Rules and Regulations of the AASFP or whose conduct in the opinion of the management is such that it may be injurious or contrary to the interests of the AASFP or objectionable or

• prejudicial to the interests of other members or staff of the AASFP; close or suspend part or all of the services, facilities or equipment of the AASFP for reason related to repair, maintenance, expansion, weather conditions, special events or for any reason whatsoever;

• at any time and without prior notice alter, amend, add to, vary or replace The Rules and Regulations of the AASFP. Such changes shall take effect when posted at the reception

• The management has the sole and absolute discretion to accept or refuse any applicant. 

14. General

• Pets - No pets of any description are allowed on the premises.

• Interpretation of the Rules - The management shall be the sole authority for the Interpretation of The Rules and Regulations and the decision of the management upon any matter affecting the AASFP, shall be final and binding on anyone.

15. Course Amendment

AASFP reserves the right to alter the details of the course such as date, time, venue and substitution of lecturers and to cancel the course.

III.Classes / Examinations Arrangements on the Approach of Typhoon/Rainstorms

If Rainstorm ‘Amber' or ‘Red' Warning Signal is in force before class hours, students are expected to come to classes provided that it is permissible under the prevailing traffic and weather conditions. If typhoon signal no. 8 or above is hoisted or black rainstorm signal is in force at the following time, classes/examinations* will be cancelled/postponed: For classes and examinations that have not yet started : If typhoon Signal No.8 or above or Black Rainstorm Warning is in force before 2 hours of the classes/examinations, there will be cancelled as indicated For classes and examinations that have already started :

  Classes Examinations
When Typhoon Signal No. 8 or above is hoisted Immediately suspended Continue until the end of that examination sessions unless the examination venue is found to be of potential risk to candidates
When Black Rainstorm Signal is in force Continue* Continue*

* all outdoor activities will be suspended

 

Typhoon

• All classes will be cancelled when Typhoon Signal No. 8 or above is hoisted within TWO hours from the class starting time. Examinations which are in session when Typhoon Signal No. 8 or above is hoisted will continue until the end of the session. All other examinations scheduled for the day will be postponed..

• All classes and examinations scheduled at their regular class meeting time which have been postponed due to bad weather conditions will be re-scheduled and announced by the Program Officer.

Rainstorm

If Rainstorm ‘Amber' or ‘Red' Warning Signal is in force before class hours, students are expected to come to classes provided that it is permissible under the prevailing traffic and weather conditions. If a Rainstorm ‘Amber' or ‘Red' Warning Signal is issued in the middle of the day, students are advised to stay indoors. Classes will continue and offices will remain open.

• Students are not expected to come to class or for examinations if a Rainstorm ‘Black' Warning Signal is issued within TWO hours from the class starting time.

• All classes and examinations scheduled at their regular class meeting time which have been postponed due to bad weather conditions will be re-scheduled and announced by the Program Officer.

For details on the arrangement on the approach of typhoon/rainstorm for classes/ examinations, please refer to notice posted at AASFP office. Announcement made by the Education and Manpower Bureau may not reflect the School's decision.
